Web-App / Domain

Set your own domain for your web-app. For example: app.privatechef.com. In addition you get a free SSL so that your web app is completely encrypted (https).

Process Overview

  • Have a custom domain with access to change its DNS-entries
  • Map your custom domain, yourdomain.com, or subdomain, app.yourdomain.com to the app
  • When the above mapping is saved, the plugin gives the DNS-entries to update in your domain settings at your domain registrar
  • Update your DNS-entries so that your domain can point back
  • Wait for DNS probation

Steps

1. Admin > Settings > Custom Domain. Your existing default Zappter app URL displays under your current domain.
  • Domain: Enter your new domain or subdomain name
  • Website title: Enter an SEO friendly title here
  • Website description: Enter SEO page description. It is the brief info about your app that search engine results display
  • Website keywords: SEO keywords
2. When you save, the below screen comes up with DNS-entries that should go into your domain settings at the domain registrar.
If you are unsure how to manage your DNS settings, please contact your domain provider for help.
3. Click on I'm finished. Zappter will prompt a message to confirm where you can either cancel or confirm the changes.
4. You may configure the DNS-entries at your domain registrar before or after completing step 3 (above).
DNS change propagation can take up to 48 hours maximum.
